International Robot Exhibit 2009 in Tokyo, Japan

The 2009 International Robot Exhibit or IREX was a huge success. The annual event was held last November 25-28, 2009 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center or popularly known as the Tokyo Big Sight.
IREX 2009 was participated by various robot manufacturers, engineers, scientists and even enthusiasts who showcased their latest innovations to the event. More than 192 companies and 64 organizations, including several Japanese universities presented their developed robots to the public. The event was organized by Japan Robot Association (JARA) and Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd.
The exhibit was organized primarily provide a place to exhibit newly-developed robots and related equipments in order to enhance market awareness of new technology. And at the same time, the show is a way for manufacturers and businessmen alike to promote their new products and services.
Several robots were presented during the show and most of the eye-catchers were the humanoid robots like Topia, the "macho" Ping Pong machine, Mottoman, immunity-raising panda robot dubbed Tocco-chan, the Koba Lab's Robotic Suit, the more low-key and practical, such as the robot tractors from AV-NS2 and many other exciting innovations.
