Saya, Japan’s First Robot Teacher

The former university robot receptionist in 2004, Saya, now has transformed into a friendly and witty grade school teacher.
Hiroshi Kobayashi, Tokyo University of Science professor and Saya's developer was delighted to see the children in class are actually responding positively with Saya as their teacher.
In a demonstration, the robot made several facial reactions to express excitement, anger (when scolding the children who are not listening) and surprised. When Saya made mention of the children's names, they were giggled and overjoyed. But when the robot started scolding them, some the students started crying. A scenario that excited Professor Kobayashi as he gazed upon the success of his creation.
Saya is yet a remote-controlled humanoid, but as the results of the demonstration showed positive response from children, probably in the future, Saya will become autonomous. For now, she's only capable of mentioning a handful of names and shouting "Be quiet".

I think there was a beauty to having a human teacher in front of you.. not that robots are not beautiful.. but there was a simplicity and meaning with feelings.. no robot can achieve that.
