What Importance are the Strong and Week Artificial Intelligence?

Strong AI is artificial intelligence that matches or exceeds human intelligence—the intelligence of a machine that can successfully perform any intellectual task that a human being can. For the time being this is only a research topic it does not exist in reality yet.
Some references emphasize a distinction between strong AI
and “applied AI” also called “weak AI”: the use of software to study or accomplish specific problem solving or reasoning tasks that do not encompass the full range of human cognitive abilities. All today applications of AI are weak AI.
Possibilities of machine simulating human behavior? They are unlimited. Today computers can do many things equal or better than humans. They are only 60 years old … and they are improving fast.
The nice thing about AI is that also we learn many thing about ourselves, for instead what do we mean by intelligence? 30 years ago all we think that to play good chess we need to be smart, now when computers can beat to 99.9% of all human chess player, we start thinking , that may be to play chess you do not need to be smart but only to be able to calculate accurately and fast … or to be accurately and fast is all about intelligence?
