note this, all remote places are not wireless. there can be wiring and hardwere right? do u mean monitoring system by wireless or monitoring system for a remote area with possibility of physical connections.
you can do it by following ways
1. assume that you have to do it by wireless. the area or the equipments or monitoring camera or whatever. you can use plc incase of monitoring status of equipment and plc to plc you can connect through a wireless lan network
2. incase of remote area with capability of hardware like cabling, its not a problem, you can connect those plc through a dial up network
3. if you mean remote monitoring through camera, you can have IP cameras, connect to the switch capable of wireless network such as vsat.
if your question is more specific , i can provide u more details

Try using a Remote Access Modem (Rockwell Automation). You may be able commuicate between your PC through the modem to your processor.

Opto 22 has the solution for you
Call and ask for Mr. Davis for details
These plc/cpu have a built-in web browser and wireless is available also —– amazing for the ease and price compared to Rockwell.
