There are days when you feel like your going to be sick if you go to the office, or you just don't want to get out of bed because of some health reasons. And these are the days when you want to hire the services of a robotic surrogate to take your place at work.

Mountain View, California-based Anybots developed a telepresence robot that will report to the office while you are away. The surrogate robot is controlled via video-game-like controls from your laptop or iPhones, allowing elevated telecommuting.

It is equipped with a screen showing your boss and co-workers any proof to validate your absence, and a camera that feeds straight to your computer screen. They're also mobile, having wheels to roam around and visit your colleagues' offices. Anybots have two different styles for their telepresence robots. One with long arms and hands, and another with a laser pointer that, while useful for pointing things out in a physical environment.
